The major ways the white Australians treated the indigenous wrongly in the past.
At first we took there land, without no words or decisions. We thought it would be the right thing to kill off anything that looked like a threat to us, causing us to have conflict with the indigenous people, killing half there population on Australia off. Giving them no say or laws in which there respect, treating them like outsiders in there own country.
But even today, struggle for the Land rights continue through legal and political systems.
But even today, struggle for the Land rights continue through legal and political systems.
The major ways our government and people have tried to right these wrongs.
Our government has tried to right there wrongs by giving small parts of lands to the indigenous people, not giving them enough, but giving them some and they have also given them the right of voice through people, getting there word about wanting there land back to the government its self.
How successful you think we have been in our attempts at reconciliation.
I think, personally, we have not been trying hard enough and we haven't done a really good job at the moment. If you look around, you don't see many pure or even a lot of half blood Indigenous people around in Australia anymore, and you don't see many working around. And even now we are still using and taking there land, despite there words, I think this is unfair to them and we should give them a more public voice so everyone can hear them and they can have a fair say in what goes down in there land.
