Kevin Rudds Sorry Speech
Yes, I think that we have the absolute right to apologize to the Indigenous people, we took their homes, children, brothers, sisters, families and land. We had no right taking any of this but we thought we did. I think they have the right to get a sorry out of Kevin Rudd, it’s the least we can do for taking away everything from them, and giving nothing back to them but stolen generations. It was never right to take children from their home, no matter what colour they are or if there half-caste or not, we had no right to calm there land and massacre them and I think it is right, that we have once a year, a sorry day for them, saying sorry for everything we have done, taken and destroyed from them. We are Sorry.
Relationship Between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous
Response of to the clip: I think its good that we have white-women nurses helping out the indigenous people,
Nurses with the Indigenous
Yes, I think the Nurse is helping the relationships between the indigenous and us, by seeing that a white women are going out of there way to help and mend the sick and injured indigenous , is saying we have by passed our differences and despite the indigenous people seeing the world in a different way to us the Nurse will go out of her way still, being the only doctor/nurse on site to help them.
No, the problems in her community compared to ours are fare worse then ours, not understanding some of the reason they die and people saying that some people get the bone pointed at them (aka cursed), not really understanding them but trying to despite it, and there are so many other problems that we can easily fix that they probably cannot, like: sexually transmitted deceases, diabetes, children not growing right and many more.
Some of the limitations that we have, that where the Nurse works are proper doctors, more advanced medications and proper hospitals , where they only have one or two nurses to help them, they need medications shipped over and not there and they don't have proper hospitals that they can go to.

The Song
The songs message is that we have to break the silence between us, telling all the land we are sorry for what has happened and what we have done, taking your land and children away for no reasons. But now, we have broken our silence sending our message throughout the whole land saying ‘We Are Sorry’ for what we have done.
Sing, sing loud, break through the silence
Sing sorry across this land If we can now say that we're sorry To the people from this land They cry, they cry, their children were stolen Now still no one knows why Sing, sing loud, break through the silence Sing sorry across this land We cry, we cry, their children were stolen Now no-one knows why Sing, sing loud, break through the silence Sing sorry across this land We sing with our hearts, respect for each and everyone, Together with hope burning strong. Sing, sing loud, we've broken the silence, Let 'sorry' start healing our land. |
